The legendary Spanish opera singer José Carreras has became worldwide famous not only due to his deep-felt performances in Verdi and Puccini’s operas but also as one of The Three Tenors along with Luciano Pavarotti and Plácido Domingo. This opera superstar is returning to Prague at the end of this year to perform his special Christmas repertoir at the O2 Arena! Do not miss this remarkable cultural event of the year 2011! The famous tenor will be accompanied by The Prague Radio Symfonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro David Gimenéz Carreras, soprano Mi-Hae Park and Prague Philharmonic Children's Choir.

You will certainly enjoy the romantic Christmas decoration and repertoire specially compiled to highlight the Christmas atmosphere of the event (audience can look forward to hear for example Cantique de Noel, I’ll be Home for Christmas, Ave Maria or the Moonlight Sonata). But Jose Carreras has prepared another surprise for his Prague audience – he’s invited a precious guest and his friend Mr. Karel Gott to sing a romantic Christmas duet with him!







José Carreras’s repertoire includes more than sixty operas that he has performed with the most famous sopranos and mezzo-sopranos at the world’s most prestigious opera theatres. He has collaborated with such renowned directors and conductors as, for example, Herbert von Karajan, who had perhaps the most profound influence on his career.

In 1980’s his career was put back for several years by acute leukaemia, which he bravely and fortunately overcame to the great relief of his admirers from all over the world. Following his recovery from the disease he established the Jose Carreras International Leukaemia Foundation over which he has been presiding with total dedication since 1988.
